Eugene and James McManus will return in the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship in 2024 with the Affinity Sports Academy Team as they move to Ducati power with technical support from the title-winning Oxford Products Racing Ducati Team.
Eugene McManus claimed a championship top ten finish including a podium finish at Brands Hatch this season, whilst bother James narrowly missed out on a top ten finish. The pair are now looking forward to lining up onboard the Ducati V2, which was victorious in the title battle with the Oxford Products Racing Ducati team and Ben Currie in 2023.
Eugene McManus said: “I’m really happy to be part of the Affinity Sports Academy alongside my brother James. We started last year’s project with the intention to build on that experience in 2024 and I think we were on track as we were moving forward, but to be on a Ducati built by MotoRapido for next year is getting me really excited! We can’t wait to get the season underway now and chase some podiums.”
James McManus added: “I am ready for another year on a different bike and what a manufacturer. I am very pleased to be back racing in the Affinity Sports Academy again next season and they have really pulled this out of the bag! I’m happy to get the chance to race and learn alongside my brother again and it’s another huge step for me to be on the MotoRapido built Ducati Panigale V2. We will be hoping to progress steadily throughout the season.”
Oxford Products Racing Ducati Team Owner Steve Moore commented: “It is fantastic to be working with the Affinity Sports Academy Team, providing technical support for the forthcoming season with Ducati. After the success of the Ducati in this year’s championship, we have had a lot of interest in the V2. It is fantastic to be working with the Affinity Team as they provide an established platform for us to help to support upcoming riders within the series.”
