Danny Kent and the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha team had a strong start to their 2026 ZYN British Superbike Championship campaign, leading the Yamaha contenders at the opening R&G Official Test at Donington Park, to finish second overall on combined times.
After a progressive six sessions, Kent quickly climbed the times on his official debut with the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha team after an initial shakedown test in Spain last month, completing 105 laps and with a fastest time of 1:27.469, just 0.285s adrift of Max Cook’s leading time.
Kent said: “It was a positive test at Donington Park for me and the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha team. We worked through a range of things and had a good plan; the wind was a bit unpredictable but we still managed to do a respectable lap time.
“By the end of day two, we found a setting that worked with both new and used tyres and managed to find a really confident feeling, so we are looking forward to the next test at Oulton Park, so thanks a lot to my team for their hard work across the two days.”
