Ryde aims to put Ducati back on top and beat Redding at Thruxton

12 August 2026

Kyle Ryde heads to Thruxton for this weekend’s (August 14/15/16) round of the ZYN British Superbike Championship bidding to end Yamaha’s dominance at the Hampshire circuit and maintain his edge over closest rival Scott Redding.

Ryde leads Redding and Bradley Ray into the three races this weekend and has celebrated success with Yamaha in the past at Thruxton, but now he is bidding to become the first Ducati rider to top the podium since Josh Brookes on the Be Wiser Ducati in the second race in 2019.

The defending champion has delivered impressive podium consistency so far this season, and is focused on maintaining his form, with just two rounds now remaining before the Showdown.

Ryde said: “I am obviously ready to go to Thruxton and the main objective is to keep this run of form going. Leaving Thruxton with three trophies would be amazing given the good run that Yamaha has had in the last four years!

“I am determined to get at least one win there so it stops the little run of form for the last four years, but my main objective is to carry on this form and try to beat Scott as many times as possible and keep it sunny side up. I am looking forward to getting back to the fastest track in the UK and hopefully it is all great racing like it normally is there and we have a safe and good weekend.”
