Kyle Ryde set the pace in the opening ZYN British Superbike Championship Free Practice session at Thruxton, launching the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing Ducati to the top of the times ahead of Leon Haslam by 0.374s.
Ray had set the early benchmark, before Ryde moved ahead in the closing ten minutes of the session, with Haslam launching into second place on the final lap of the session for the local Moto Rapido Racing team.
Ray was third fastest at the chequered flag, with Danny Kent maintaining a positon inside the top five for the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha team and Storm Stacey completing the top five contenders.
Max Cook was sixth fastest on the AJN Steelstock bimota’s debut at Thruxton, ahead of Scott Redding and Christian Iddon with Glenn Irwin and Ryan Vickers completing the top ten.
