Rory Skinner celebrated his first podium of the 2026 ZYN British Superbike Championship at Thruxton for Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha and is now feeling confident ahead of this weekend’s Bank Holiday round (29/30/31) at Cadwell Park.
Skinner celebrated podium success and then was in the mix throughout the weekend, and arriving in Lincolnshire for the final round of the Main Season, the Scot is determined to deliver another strong performance this weekend.
Skinner said: “Thruxton was a much better weekend for us. The Yamaha has some good history there in the past, so it filled me with confidence going into the weekend. It’s never really been a track that I’ve had too great results at so to have gone into the weekend and come out with three really solid rides and to be in the mix, especially the last race which was probably the highlight for me.
“Being on the podium and being back on the box with some silverware was great and it felt like I still had something left for the last few laps of that race, however, the last race on Sunday I really enjoyed. It was nice being back out the front leading, I felt really comfortable and then I got caught up a bit on the last couple of laps and I didn’t really know how the other riders were comparing to me as I was out front so it was interesting and good to be back there.
“Going into Cadwell Park I’m pretty excited. It should be a track that should help the Yamaha to an extent and it has gone well there in the past previously so I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and I’ve been training really hard so I’m ready to go and get things underway.”
