Leon Haslam and the Moto Rapido Racing team are determined to be back in the ZYN British Superbike Championship podium fight this weekend, following a break through last time out at Snetterton.
Haslam admits there was an area that they were losing ground to their opposition and after some hard work behind the scenes, the team feel that they found the solution at Snetterton. However a difficult race one, was compounded by a heavy crash in race two, but a beaten up Haslam still delivered a gritty performance to finish race three with an impressive top five finish.
Haslam said: “Obviously Snetterton for me, results-wise wasn’t actually ideal, but we made quite a lot of progress. We had been struggling at the first few rounds with a certain area of the bike and Wilf and the team worked really hard after Knockhill, where the issue was highlighted even more. Straight away at Snetterton that issue was solved and the bike felt a lot better to ride.
“We did miss FP1 with another technical issue, and we had a small issue in race one and then I crashed in race two, so a fourth and a fifth didn’t really resemble the capability of the pace that we did have. I felt that we had a bike that was a lot more competitive so we look forward to Brands Hatch now and we want to be back fighting for podiums.”
