Championship leader Marley Mackenzie was back on top this afternoon as he pipped Ben Jolliffe to the best lap in free practice by 0.036secs.
After a tough outing at Snetterton a fortnight ago, the Kirkcaldy Kawasaki rider banked a best lap of 1min 36.915secs to lead the opening day.
Jolliffe was second quickest as the flag fell, with Laken Payne third, Luca Hopkins fourth and Freddy Oakley rounding out the top five.
