Leon Haslam kicked off his ZYN British Superbike Championship season in style at Oulton Park back in May, scoring a trio of second place finishes, and this weekend the title battle returns to Cheshire as the Moto Rapido Racing contender bids for more podium success.
Haslam believes that the Moto Rapido Racing team return to the circuit in a much stronger position than they were at the season opener, and after positive progress at both Snetterton and Brands Hatch in recent rounds, is ready to try to return to the battle at the front of the pack.
Haslam said: “For me, Brands Hatch was quite positive, in the past it has been a bit of a bogey circuit of mine, especially with Scott and Kyle doing so well there in the past. In the last race, we were able to match the lap times of Scott and actually be up in the fight for the podium, we made some massive progress with both myself and the bike at Brands Hatch.
“I think we learnt a lot over the Brands Hatch weekend and also at Snetterton the week before so going back to Oulton Park now, where we had three seconds earlier in the year, and challenge Kyle with a lot lesser bike than we currently have now makes me really excited. It’s going to be the halfway point of the championship at Oulton Park, so it’s time to start turning that wick up and I am looking forward to getting back there.”
