Rory Skinner heads into this weekend’s ZYN British Superbike Championship action at Oulton Park feeling optimistic of further improvements as the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha team aim to build on their recent performances and a best result of fourth place.
Skinner is eager to get back on circuit in Cheshire, knowing that they have made further improvements with the Yamaha R1 since the season opening visit back in May, when he claimed a best result of sixth place.
Skinner said: “I am quite looking forward to Oulton Park this weekend actually, I set my personal best lap time there earlier in the year and started to feel quite racey I would say in the last race of the weekend. I am looking forward to going back, knowing now what we know about the Yamaha and how much we have improved with the bike.
“It was nice to come away from Brands Hatch feeling strong and fighting with reasonable pace at the end of race three again. It’s not where we want to be, however we have to work with the situation we are in and go from there, and I can’t fault the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha team, everyone is helping and putting the work in to get us there. We continue working hard and with enthusiasm even when it has been a bit tough, and it is easy to ease off the throttle a bit, but we are still pushing.
“I am excited for Oulton Park; I think it should be a good round in the middle of summer! It should be good and I can’t wait to get started.”
