Championship leader Luke Stapleford signalled his intentions for the weekend ahead as he stormed to the top of the FP1 timesheets at Oulton Park this morning.
The Scars-Racing Ducati rider – who proved to be unbeatable at the season-opener here back in May – was back on top with a 1min 36.574sec lap in the opening session.
But Oli Bayliss, who has won the last three races and hasn’t finished off the podium since joining the series at Knockhill, looked strong as he hit the track for the first time, ending the session second, 0.193secs behind.
Honda Racing UK’s Dean Harrison was third, ahead of Ben Currie as Harrison’s team-mate Jack Kennedy was fifth.
Cam Swain was the fastest of the Cup runners this morning, leading the class in p20 overall, with Keo Walker second and James Alderson third.
