Pirelli British Sportbike Championship: Mackay takes maiden victory

05 July 2026

Harrison Mackay celebrated his first British Sportbike race win this morning after a strong weekend where he dominated all sessions.

After leading both free practice sessions, taking pole for the race and topping the warm up timesheets, he made it a full house with the win.

Ferre Fleerackers launched himself off the start line from P2 and straight into the lead, controlling the pack for the first three laps until he ran off track and rejoined back in P8.

Mackay had dropped back to fourth in the opening lap but after passing Asher Durham and Cameron Dawson on Lap Three, hit the front when Fleerackers ran off and from there was never challenged.

Asher Durham ran in second position all the way to the flag, finishing 4.237secs behind Mackay as Fleerackers regrouped and made his way back up to finish third, albeit 6.271secs behind the winner.

Carl Harris was fourth as Taylor Rose completed the top five.
