Rory Skinner has celebrated multiple success at his home round of Knockhill and as the ZYN British Superbike Championship returns next weekend (June 19/20/21), the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha rider is determined to give the home fans a show.
Skinner holds seventh in the overall standings after the opening two rounds with top six finishes, but the local hero will want to give his home fans something to celebrate next weekend as the Championship hits Scotland.
Skinner said: “The first two rounds have been interesting, it has been nice to get the six races under my belt with the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha and I have definitely learnt quite a lot about the bike and how I need to ride it. I am not over the moon with the results, but I am happy enough that we have been consistent and near the front in most of the races.
“It has been a difficult this one this year, maybe not quite the transition that I had hoped with the terms of the results, but I feel like the speed that I have shown on the Yamaha compared to what the lap times were on it in previous years, have been pretty comparable.
“To be close to Brad and to be the second Yamaha in the championship is what I am looking at right now. I have worked all winter to be at the front end, winning races and fighting for podiums, not be trying to break into the top six.
“Heading to Knockhill next weekend, I am excited to get there; it is a track I know well, it’s a track I have been successful at in the past and hopefully we can start our 2026 off there and really get some great results under my belt.
“The team have been working really hard, and with my crew chief Stuart Shenton staying on with me, it’s been good so far and we haven definitely been getting almost the best we can and I am looking forward to getting another weekend under my belt on it. There is definitely a little bit more to come from me and from the bike as well so we will see where that puts us.”
