Kyle Ryde was victorious ahead of Bradley Ray and Scott Redding in a hectic second ZYN British Superbike Championship race at Knockhill.
Redding had hit the front of the pack on the opening lap, but Ryde was instantly on the attack and moved ahead of the Hager PBM Racing Team rider.
The leading trio were in close contention, as Rory Skinner was forced to retire his Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha on the second lap of the race.
The BMW Safety Car was deployed when Luke Hedger, Richard Kerr and Joe Talbot crashed out at the Hairpin on lap four with the stricken Whitecliffe CDH Racing Honda in the track.
When the race resumed, Ray was shadowing Ryde but couldn’t find the opportunity to make a move for the lead, but he was able to return to the podium in second place to overcome the disappointment of yesterday’s DNF, with Redding completing the podium line up.
It was disappointing race two for Glenn Irwin, after experiencing the highs of a podium return yesterday; he crashed out at turn seven on lap 12, with Ryan Vickers also sliding out of contention a lap earlier at turn three.
The battle for fourth again went down to the wire with a three-rider tussle won by Storm Stacey as he made a last lap move on Max Cook, with Leon Haslam taking the chequered flag in sixth place.
Josh Brookes claimed his best result of the season in seventh place for DAO Racing Honda ahead of teammate Lee Jackson and Danny Kent, with Ilya Mikhalchik claiming his first top ten finish in the Superbike class in tenth place for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad British Superbike Race team.
