Honda Racing UK were back on track for the first time in 2026 this week as they took part in a two-day private test at Monteblanco in Spain as Jason O'Halloran and Ryan Vickers prepare for their comeback to the ZYN British Superbike Championship.
The team completed two days on track, after an initial test last November as O’Halloran prepares for his comeback to the series with Honda Racing UK after winning race together in the past, whilst Vickers will make his debut with the team at the Oulton Park season opener in May.
O’Halloran said: “That was the first test of 2026 done and I was really happy to get back on the motorbike this year, I got to ride last November, but it always feels like a long winter! It is good to get the wheels turning back with the new crew at Honda Racing UK and get two days under our belt at Monteblanco. It is a circuit that I know well from my time at Honda before, but I haven’t been there for quite a number of years so it was good to get back out there and do some laps on the Fireblade.
“It was a really positive two days and we worked through loads of new items, and at the end of the test I was feeling pretty comfortable and happy. We have a bit of a break for a few days before we get on track at Andalucía for a couple more days, so looking forward to getting back on the bike soon.”
Vickers said: “We had a very successful two days at Monteblanco, the first day was about me getting back on the BSB bike and getting up to speed, and used no riding again with no electronics. Honestly, within a few laps I felt extremely comfortable on the bike, we did the test at the end of last year in Jerez and that bike felt great here again at a completely different circuit. That was really positive and from there we introduced new parts the team had worked on over the winter and some new strategies and everything was really positive. When we thought where we should be, we found some extra time and that is always great and my fastest lap I could do consistently lap after lap, on new and old tyres.
“I am really happy, enjoying being back on a BSB bike and I am feeling really at home with the team, they are fantastic and I have a really great crew around me this year. We now have a few days at Andalucía before we head back for the Official Tests at Donington Park and Oulton Park. We want to keep making progress and look forward to seeing everyone soon.”
