The comeback is on for Honda Racing UK’s Jason O'Halloran and Ryan Vickers as the teammates completed four days of pre-season testing in Spain as they prepare for their return to the ZYN British Superbike Championship.
O’Halloran has celebrated previous success with Honda Racing UK, and the Australian was building momentum on his return to team having competed and won last year’s Endurance World Championship. Vickers has had experience this year of the WSBK-specification Fireblade, but quickly got back to work with the BSB-specification model and the pair are now feeling prepared for the opening R&G Official Tests at Donington Park (April 3/4) and Oulton Park (April 21/22) ahead of the season opener.
O’Halloran said: “We had two really good days at Monteblanco and then two really good days at Andalucia, beautiful weather and we were able to get through plenty of work and I have been getting more and more familiar with the Fireblade all of the time. We have been working with the team, which has been great so we leave here feeling really positive. We tried a lot of different settings in the bike and I think in the end we are pretty happy with where we ended up. Now we can look forward to getting back to the UK and the next test at Donington Park.”
Vickers said: “We couldn’t be happier after the four days on track; we all gelled really well in the team and got up to speed and I was feeling really comfortable which was the objective of these few days on track. It was about getting used to the new bike and the new team and we have found our way, working at two different circuits and we have tried many different things and we have come back to the same place. I have been really happy with that, the team have been fantastic and the lap times have been coming nicely. We are in a good place and I look forward to getting to Donington Park for the official tests.”
