A new era started for FS-3 Racing in the ZYN British Superbike Championship today (Monday) as they debuted on track with the all-new AJN Steelstock bimota KB998 Rimini Superbikes during the World Championship test at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.
The team took delivery of the new machines at the start of the year and since then, they have been hard at work at the workshop assembling the new AJN Steelstock bimotas, ready for their on track debut in Portugal.
Cook and Talbot debuted on track this morning, continuing to adapt to the bimotas with the team back on track for a further day tomorrow ahead of returning to the UK to prepare for the R&G Official Tests at Donington Park (April 3/4) and Oulton Park (April 21/22).
Cook said: “Day one was such a good day on the new bimota, it feels like a race bike and it’s a proper weapon. From the moment I left pitlane I had a smile on my face, the bike is unbelievable and does everything so well. It corners so well; it is so stable under braking and is so fast. We have another day on track and I am really excited to continue on track and test the limits.”
Talbot said: “What an experience the first day was and I loved every second of it. The weather meant we didn’t get as many laps as we wanted but we have another day so I can just continue to learn and generate data to get used to the bike. It is a mega experience and I want to thank the whole team.”
