Jack Kennedy ended the opening day of the season finale at the top of the timesheets as he begins his push to steal the title from points leader Luke Stapleford.
The Honda Racing UK rider ended Friday P1 on combined times with a best lap of 1min 28.236secs, just beating Oli Bayliss by 0.017secs.
Dean Harrison on the second Honda Racing UK machine was third fastest, with Stapleford fourth and Carter Brown fifth.
In the Cup class, Cam Swain was once again fastest, leading Keo Walker as Ben Tolliday rounded out the top three.
Kennedy arrives this weekend trailing Scars-Racing Ducati’s Stapleford by 45 points – and the five-time champion and most successful rider in the series’ history still has a small chance of leapfrogging his rival to claim his sixth title.
