Barry Burrell started the weekend how he hopes to go on as he beat title rival Kieran Smith to the top spot in free practice.
The points leader and defending champion clocked a 1min 42.210sec lap to go 0.234secs clear of Smith, as Kieran’s twin brother Christian ended the session third, a further 0.215secs behind.
Kenny Macleod was fourth quickest as the flag fell with Davey Todd, making his first ever appearance in the championship, was fifth.
