Jack Burrows took victory at the end of a dramatic opening Moto4 race as four major players crashed out.
And among the crashers were title rivals Ryan Frost and Jack Dunabie, meaning there was no change at the top of the points table ahead of tomorrow’s final two races of the season.
Points leader Frost got a flying start from pole but it was Alex Remesal-Lomas who led by the end of the first lap. Frost was soon back ahead, before Marco Holt came through at the end of the third lap to hit the front.
Dunabie passed Frost to move second on the sixth lap and a lap later hit the front. Frost, keen to stick with him, made a move up the outside of Holt but just clipped Dunabie’s rear and crashed out.
Dunabie appeared to have damage and dropped back to third and then moments later Luke Fitchett crashed at the Loop and took out an unsuspecting Dunabie, ending his race and the chance of gaining points back as a result of Frost’s crash.
Holt soon found himself back ahead, leading Burrows for the several laps until the final lap when Remesal-Lomas moved ahead of Burrows and the passed Holt to hit the front.
Holt came back up the inside but as all three came into the Loop for the last time, Burrows scythed up the inside and ran Holt wide.
As Burrows and Holt both went wide, Remesal-Lomas crashed on his own and his bike took out Holt. Burrows was able to keep going to take the flag ahead of Harrison Day.
Tyler Humphries was third with Henry McCartney fourth and Aeziah Divine fifth.
