Kyle Ryde leads his Championship rivals into the opening round of the BSB Showdown at the TT Circuit Assen this weekend (September 18/19/20), with the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing rider aiming for his first Superbike race win at the circuit.
Ryde holds the advantage over closest rivals Scott Redding and Bradley Ray ahead of this weekend’s three races with the points ramping up for the crucial final stages of the 2026 title fight. Ryde took a treble podium finish at Cadwell Park, but missed out on the victories as he aims to get back to the top step of the podium this weekend.
Ryde said: “I was very happy with the weekend that we had at Cadwell Park, obviously the objective was to figure the bike out around there, as it was another new circuit for me on the Ducati, and to be honest I think it was the most difficult of them so far of the tracks we have been to. I think we did a good job to bring three trophies home and also get King of the Mountain too.
“We did the job we needed to do and that is to keep beating Scott as much as possible. We left Cadwell with a good amount of points and a good feeling, which I think is well deserved by the whole team. We know we have more hard work to come as the next three tracks are probably one of Scott’s favourite three, we want to keep trying to beat him, we have done it before so we will keep doing what we have been doing.
“I am looking forward to riding the Ducati around Assen; hopefully the British fans make the journey over and join all the fans we get there too, and try to do the best job we can before going to Donington Park for my home round.”
