Matt Truelove has signed a further one-year contract extension with TAG Racing, increasing his stay with the team to a fifth year, as he looks to secure his first Pirelli National Superstock Championship title.
Truelove, who joined the team full-time in 2023, has enjoyed much success together with the team, enjoying a host of podium finishes and enjoying a Championship best finish of fourth in 2025.
2027 will see a host of changes for the Lincolnshire man, as the team make their switch to Ducati machinery, with Truelove taking to the track on the Panigale V4 S.
Truelove said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be staying with the team for 2027 and I must say a big thank you to Rob, Tracy and Gary for putting their trust in me again. It’s a very exciting time to be involved with the team, the switch to Ducati is really positive and a statement of intent, and I’m very confident we’ll be challenging for the title.
“I’m yet to ride the bike and assess its positives, but Fraser has recently put it through its paces and he was very complementary about the package, and that fills me with a lot of confidence. It’s clearly a fantastic bike from its performances in BSB and World Superbikes, so I’m proud to have the chance to represent the Ducati brand in the National Superstock Championship and I’ll be doing all I can to win the title.
“We have a full winter testing programme planned and in place, and I fully believe that we’ll be in a strong position when welcome to the start of the season to mount a serious challenge.
“2027 will be my fifth year with the TAG Racing team, they’re very much like my second family and I hope I can repay the faith shown in me next season.”
Team manager Gary Winfield: “I’m delighted to be able to welcome Matt back for a fifth year with us, he’s become one of the family and it was a very easy, and quick, decision to get him signed back up again for 2027.
“His performances in 2026 so far have been fantastic, he’s given it his all and has been a real contender until his crash at Cadwell Park, which was very unfortunate.
“Like us, he’s very excited about our switch to Ducati for 2027 and he’s extremely excited about getting the chance to ride the bike before we start pre-season testing, which we hope he will be able to at Donington Park.
“Right now I firmly believe we have the best rider and machine combination to mount a real challenge for the title in 2027. We’re focused on ensuring we can give Matt everything he wants and needs to get the job done, and hopefully come the final round next season we’ll have our first National Championship to celebrate.”
