Bradley Ray will remain with the McAMS Yamaha team for a third consecutive season in the British Superbike Championship in 2027 after signing an extension to his current agreement.
The 2022 British Superbike Champion first joined forces with the Raceways Motorcycles-run team as Steve Rodgers stepped in at the 11th hour to save Ray’s 2025 campaign. The story began with a fairy-tale ten victories from the opening 12 races of the season, with Ray fighting for the championship until the very end, rounding out the year runner-up.
While 2026 has proved more of a challenge, Ray has dug deep to sit third in the championship as it enters its final stage with points ramping up over the final three races. In a year where race wins have been harder to come by, Ray’s tenacity and the team’s efforts have seen the 29-year-old dig deep to stand on the top step twice with twelve further visits to the podium.
The announcement comes as the UK’s leading motorcycle accident management firm, McAMS, commits to continue its support for the team in the 2027 season – marking over a decade of partnership with the Raceways team. The ‘McAMS Yamaha’ name was born in 2017 and has since become one of the most successful team partnerships in British Superbike Championship history, celebrating over 50 race victories and securing the 2021 BSB title with Tarran Mackenzie.
The McAMS Yamaha team will continue as Yamaha Motor UK’s supported effort in the championship into 2027. The team are already working hard to further develop their Yamaha R1 machine for the 2026 season, as they seek to extract more potential from the bike which has won the championship four times in the last six years.
Ray said: “I am super happy to confirm I will remain with Steve and the McAMS Yamaha team into 2027. The atmosphere and family feeling of the team is great, and while 2026 has been a bit of a challenge in many regards, the team’s ability to dig deep when it has been tough is a mark of what they are capable of. There are a few changes coming for 2027 and I am both confident and excited to continue this journey with McAMS Yamaha and Raceways.”
Steve Rodgers, McAMS Yamaha, Team Principal commented: “Brad is a class act, and we’ve really seen that this year as he’s been winning when it’s been harder than ever. He’s really dug deep and got the most out of the package, so for us to continue is a dream. We’ve obviously got a lot of work to do to get the package back to a level where we can fight at the front, but we are making progress as we have shown throughout the 2026 season and we are confident that we can be back fighting for the title in 2027.”
