Honda UK has a strong history in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, securing four Superbike titles, making them one of the most successful teams in the paddock.

Ryuichi Kiyonari won the Louth-based team consecutive Championship titles in 2006 and 2007, before following them up in 2010 and with Alex Lowes in 2013. The team has also won three British Supersport and National Superstock crowns, including last year with Tom Neave.

The team have continued to be in title contention in recent years, claiming places in the Showdown with Jason O'Halloran and Dan Linfoot, but narrowly missed out in 2019 with Andrew Irwin and Xavi Forés.

In 2020, the team had one of their best campaigns in recent years with brothers Glenn and Andrew Irwin, following the arrival of the all-new CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP. The new ‘Blade’ won the opening race of the season with Andrew, and Glenn led the standings for the majority of the shortened season, with the pairing celebrating four race wins and a further five podium finishes.

In 2021 the team announced a brand-new project with Honda Motor Co., Ltd. - the Honda Superbike Challenge Program. The project supports racers competing in national championships worldwide, to take further steps in their racing careers. Joining forces with Honda’s head office in Japan, the programme meant Honda Racing UK’s participation in Bennetts BSB sits within Honda’s global racing activities from MotoGP, World Superbike and the All-Japan Championship.

As part of the ‘Honda Superbike Challenge Program’, Honda Racing UK signed Japanese contenders Ryo Mizuno and Takumi Takahashi alongside Glenn Irwin. The trio returned in 2022 with the team’s Superstock champion Tom Neave promoted to the Superbike class and Irwin delivered his best results of his career so far, securing second in the championship standings and putting Honda back on the top step of the podium.

In 2023 Andrew Irwin returns to Honda Racing UK, the manufacturer where he celebrated his first race win in the series and also for the latest Fireblade and Neave is back for a second season as he looks to build on his rookie campaign.
