Tommy Bridewell was the fastest rider on track in the fourth session of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship Official Test at Silverstone, posting his best lap in the final minutes after a light shower earlier in the morning.
Danny Buchan had made the early running in the session before a crash meant an early end to his session this morning. The SYNETIQ BMW rider had set the leading time, but then crashed out of the session. A light rain shower caused all the riders to head back into pitlane shortly after and when the action resumed a late run of laps rapidly changed the order.
As Buchan held second place, the Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha team went third fastest with Kyle Ryde who split the SYNETIQ BMW teammates with Andrew Irwin in fourth place.
Josh Brookes completed the top five for MCE Ducati as teammate Tom Sykes decided to sit out the session, with Jason O'Halloran the sole McAMS Yamaha rider in sixth place.
Reigning champion Tarran Mackenzie has been diagnosed with a fracture to the left ankle following assessment at University Hospital Coventry. He will see a specialist in Nottingham tomorrow (Friday) for further consultation.
Chrissy Rouse had a strong start to the second day in seventh place for the Crowe Performance BMW team ahead of Christian Iddon and Takumi Takahashi. Leon Haslam completed the top ten with two sessions remaining.
