Don’t look back in anger: It’s time to look forward to the Showdown!

02 September 2024

It’s time for the 2024 Bennetts British Superbike Championship Showdown in just under two weeks’ time at Oulton Park (13/14/15 September) and after Cadwell Park concluded the Main Season, the points are now increased across the crucial title-deciding final three rounds.

With the increased value of points, mathematically 19 riders can still take the crown as the title chase returns to Cheshire, but at the top of the standings, it is defending champion Tommy Bridewell who is leading his quest to make history by winning consecutive titles for different manufacturers.

Bridewell holds a 19-point lead over Kyle Ryde, whose stunning performances at the weekend moved him closer to his Honda Racing UK rival, whilst Glenn Irwin’s hat trick of fifth places took him back into third in the standings and just ahead of Christian Iddon and Ryan Vickers.

As the season reaches the decisive final three rounds at Oulton Park, Donington Park and Brands Hatch, MasterMac Honda became the 12th different team to celebrate podium success in 2024 last weekend, with both Charlie Nesbitt and Lee Jackson taking top three finishes, as 16 different riders have now finished on the podium ahead of the Showdown.

The final three rounds feature an increase in the points’ value, as the last nine races of the season remain crucial to the destiny of the title chase, you can find out more below.
