Leon Haslam was always destined to compete in the sport, following in the wheel tracks of his father ‘Rocket’ Ron, Leon nicknamed the ‘Pocket Rocket’ was introduced to racing at a young age.

Haslam began his career in motocross and was a National Youth champion in 1995 and 1996 before entering the British paddock in the British 125 Championship where he was a race winner. It wasn’t long until he moved onto the World stage, competing in the 125cc World Championship in 2000, before racing a privateer Honda NSR500V in the 500 class in 2001 and a 250cc Honda in 2002.

In 2003 Haslam returned to the British Championship, lining up in the Supersport class before moving into the World Superbike class in 2004, finishing the year eighth overall.

For the 2005 season, Haslam was back in BSB with the Airwaves Ducati team and finished fourth in the overall standings and he maintained his position with them for the following year, fighting for the title until the final round and ended the year as runner-up. Haslam continued with them the following season, finishing in third place in the final standings. 

Haslam moved to HM Plant Honda and secured race wins during the 2008 season before returning to the world stage the following season. A consistent season in 2009, saw him move to the Alstare Suzuki team in 2010 and he ended the season as runner-up in the title fight, and he remained in WSBK until 2016 when he returned to Bennetts BSB action.

Haslam finished runner-up in 2016, taking the title down to the wire at the final round. A season later and he was back on the attack and gunning for his first Bennetts BSB title, however it wasn’t to be and he ended the campaign in third place, but in 2018 he claimed the crown with the JG Speedfit Kawasaki team.

In 2019, Haslam headed back to the World Championship, where he continues this season with the HRC team.
