Biography

Niall Mackenzie is a multiple BSB champion, winning consecutive titles from 1996 through to 1998 and now his sons Taylor and Tarran compete.

Mackenzie is also a British title winner in the 250cc and 350cc earlier in his career and experienced a strong Grand Prix career, debuting in 1984 in the 250cc class. He moved up to the 500cc class in 1986 and claimed 4th in the championship in 1990, competing against legends such as Wayne Rainey, Kevin Schwantz and Mick Doohan.

Mackenzie finished in the top 10 in the 500cc class on seven occasions, claiming seven podium finishes during his time in the leading World Championship.

Mackenzie returned to BSB action with his final full season in 2000, although the Scot did make a one-off race at Knockhill in 2001 and stood in for the injured Yukio Kagayama at Donington Park in 2003.
